WHY AM I SO INACTIVE JMFC

Personally, I rely on SAI way too much lol Although Photoshop CS6 is my lifeblood for final editing and such (Layers wise, I like to use as few as possible)
Any Pixel animations are done in GIMP though

I use MS Paint for pixel art, especially animate pixel art. Everything else I use Gimp 2.8 (which, yes, even as a free system I prefer over Paint Sai or Photoshop) I use the ink tool for my lines (now, I used to not but it opened a whole new lineart WORLD(confetti)for me) I sketch with a solid paintbrush of round size (the most solid brush it alows) at size 3.00, and I draw the circle and simply lines. I do an outline of the body in airbrush with 80.0 rate, the same size. Also, I use all my brushes on smooth stroke with a weight of 92.0 to 107.00, and quality of 20. I don't use modes really, but I definitely use a lot of layers, at least five sketch layers.

i do just about everything in SAI tbh but if i ever wanna try out some experimental stuff i tend to use clip studio or fire alpaca or i go look for new brushes to try using in SAI which is really a lot of fun

I personally use Krita, which I find is a nice mix between SAI and Photoshop. It's a free software too!!

I mostly use pen/pencil on paper when I draw but I do use MyBrushes for digital work. I'm too poor to own anything more sophisticated and I only have a Mac. (I tried GIMP once and it didn't work out )

I mainly use PaintTool SAI, though I'm looking to switch over to Photoshop CC either this year or the next. Whenever I can make the cash commitment. (Even then I'll probably use both) I played with the trial a few months ago, and it's really improved a lot since CS2 (which was the last version of PS I used).
SAI is the most natural feeling program I've ever tried, second would probably be OpenCanvas. Other programs feel stiff to me, though I can still produce results.
When I work in Photoshop I'm very much the sort of person to stick with the round brush lol I can't get texture brushes to work for me. Even my SAI brush tweaks are pretty simple ^^;
My goal for next year is also to learn Manga Studio, since I bought 4 EX when they were promoting it cheap right before they released version 5.

I have Sai and I used to download like every brush I could find , ahah, then I realized I didn't use any of them so I deleted a bunch! I only use three brushes, one for sketching and lining, and two for coloring/blending (one of them will blend and one of them wont blend with anything), one of the reasons I love Sai is the brush customization tbh its so useful,, idk if photoshop has that? but yeah thats my input haha

Since I (almost) always make sprites, I just use mspaint...! (I learned how to sprite in Appleworks, which is a really old word processing program. So that sort of explains why I like mspaint more than anything else haha)

I use an ipad for my art, and the app I use is Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I used the free version for a year or so, but loved it so much that I actually paid the $5+ to upgrade. Cx It has been the best art app I've found for my ipad, and have been able to do so much with it.(: Of course I really would like to get a real graphics tablet to use someday, but I am very happy with how I have improved using just an ipad. I am also incredibly proud of the fact that I don't even use a stylus. Just fingers for me! x)

i use mostly procreate on my ipad, w/o a stylus, and firealpaca w/ an intuos tablet. and then i tend to use between 3 and 7 layers. my sketch layer (if i dont just make a decently neat sketch and use that as line) usually hangs around for some reason. i rly only use the basic round brush on both programs. on procreate i modified the brush pen to just be a circle.

I use FireAlpaca. I use a 3480x2160 canvas (I think?) because that's the largest size available in my animating program, Pinnacle Studio 18. I tend to stick with the default pen brush for lineart, at size 15. After I draw a circle as a basic shape for the head, I change pen colors and draw the muzzle, ears and the hair if there is any. I then add two layers- one for color, one for lineart. I go onto the lineart layer, and if the sketch looks good, use the fill bucket to turn the color from, let's say blue to black. I then add the body. I then flip to the color layer and select what I want to color, setting my pen to size 1000. After I fill that in, I add another layer, and re-select the different parts- Let's say the hair, nose and eyes. I draw sparkles in the hair/nose/eyes, then set the layer to overlay and change opacity, repeat twice. I then select the other parts- Let's say the body- and then switch to the brush I need, usually the Fur Texture brush I downloaded. I make light strokes along the whole body with black, then set the layer to Overlay and lower the opacity. I then find a darker shade of the base color and put little strokes on the cheeks, muzzle, ears, and neck on a new layer. (I know people say not to use black but it looked good on Captain!) I then hide the sparkles in the hair and select it, using the Coarse Hair brush I downloaded and going over it with black, setting it to overlay and then lowering opacity again. I then draw a simple background and occasionally run it through Pixlr to add effects.
The finished drawing looks something like this one.
(did i go too into detail? oops!)
