Because last year's website is lost and the new team has to rebuild it from scratch, Art Fight is hosted on a Proboards forum this year. Many users are familiar with message boards, but many others are not - and message boards aren't a simple medium if you aren't familiar with them. We are sorry if this transition has been frustrating to you, but we'd like to help make the process as painless as possible! This is a step-by-step guide to the most important message board functions used in this year's Art fight.
POSTING IMAGES
Posting an image from your computer/anywhere using Imgur:
Once your image is uploaded, you can just copy and paste the pre-made BBCode tag into your post to add your image. Lovely! It is not necessary to "Publish to Imgur" or anything like that. If you want to link to your image, use the "Direct Link (email & IM)" url and either paste it as-is or use a link tag like this:
Posting and image from deviantArt/Sta.sh:
Click on the "download link to get to the image directly. (This link uses a redirect, so right clicking and choosing "copy link address" will not work.)
Copy the URL of you image from the address bar. If you know how to use tags yourself, stop here and just paste this URL into your img tag.
In the forum post editor, click the little sunset photo and paste your URL from deviantArt into the popup as shown. Viola! Images![/ul][/ul]

POSTING THREADS
LINKING TO POSTS
Here's how to get the link to a post, feat. an attack by TeenTornado because I haven't finished any yet.
View your post in the thread, and click the gear icon in the top right corner.
Choose "Link to Post.
This will give you two links. The first one will bring the person who uses it to the page of the thread the post is posted in. The second will isolate the post.
Use the second for your Attack! form to help speed up the process for the mods. You might want to use the first one to link someone to a character in your character listing, for example.[/ul]
PINGING / NOTIFYING USERS
If the user is using a different display name from the name they entered when they signed up (like I am - my username is "glaceleau" and my display name is "Glace Leau"), the ping will not work. Because of this, always check to make sure that you are using the right username by visiting their profile. Their original username will be listed on the right side of the page underneath "send message."
You can also send a user a notification by "Liking" their posts (using the thumbs-up button on the top right corner). This is a good way to let a user know that you've left a comment on their attack post, because comments don't send notifications. [/ul]
